Detroit, MI.- Another weekend is upon us and that means college football games will take center stage. The grand crowd is a wonderful recruiting tool for college basketball coaches and you can find many basketball recruits amongst the coeds, alumni, and football fans in general. Of course there are players staying in state this weekend like Bay City Western's 6'8 2012 Matt Costello who will take in the Michigan-Notre Dame game but, there are a couple of Michigan seniors traveling out of state.
Inside Prep Sports reported last weekend that Muskegon Reeths-Puffer's 6'5 2010 small forward Chris Anderson is an athletic lefty who has already made a trip to the University of Toledo. Well he's headed back this Friday on an official visit to watch the Rockets battle the University of Colorado on the gridiron in a game that will be televised on ESPN. This is at least Anderson's third trip to Toledo since the end of May, as he participated in Inside Prep Sports' Border Battle with the Grand Rapids Storm-Martin 17u squad. Andserson's stock has grown immensely since the Grand Rapids Storm Classic in mid-April of this year.
MoJo, Pookie, or as I prefer Pound for Pound, whichever you prefer, 5'6 2010 point guard Maurice Jones of Saginaw Arthur Hill has narrowed his decisions to Duquesne and St. Bonaventure. His next two weekends are planned, as he'll make official visits to St. Bonaventure this weekend and the following weekend he'll visit Duquesne. Jones told me that he plans to make a decision soon after those visits and it seems to be that one of those two Atlantic-10 schools will be his choice. Both programs had assistant coaches in Michigan during the first weekend of the NCAA's open period.
