Grand Haven, MI.- 6’10 2010 center Nate VanArendonk of Grand Haven, MI. is one of Michigan’s best front court players and his play has gained the attention and offers from over a half dozen college programs.  Earlier today he decided which school would benefit from his talents.

VanArendonk emerged in April of 2008 with the Grand Rapids Storm 16u team in a game versus the Michigan Mustangs’ notable big men, 6’9 2010 power forward Alex Guana (Michigan State) and 6’9 2010 center Jon Horford.  Word quickly spread over the past year and a half and he gained offers and serious attention from Vanderbilt, Wake Forrest, Northeastern, Stony Brook, Western Michigan, Holy Cross, and Central Michigan.  Today he chose Central Michigan.

VanArendonk is Michigan’s #2 center in the 2010 class behind Horford.  Gauna is the state’s #1 power forward in Michigan’s 2010 class.  The Grand Haven center has solid food work and is a solid athlete who went through a major growth spurt between his freshman and sophomore year.  He is also the third G.R. Storm player to commit to Central Michigan since September.  6’8 2010 power forward Colin Voss and 5’10 2011 point guard Jorddan Myrick are the others.
