Michigan- While others were taking in the familiar smell of Labor Day barbecues, two players from the Great Lakes State made decisions on where they will play college basketball. I'm not saying that they didn't have le delicious barbecue but that they were multi-tasking and enjoying the opportunities of the future.
Holt's 6'6 2010 wing Cole Darling is one of Michigan's most diverse players as he can play on the perimeter, the mid-range, and his quickness in the post make him amongst the toughest players to guard in the state. His length and athleticism on the defensive end prompted looks from the Michigan coaching staff where he would dominate at the top of head coach John Beilien's 1-3-1 zone. While playing for the Michigan Roadrunners he stood out in many tournaments including Inside Prep Sports' Border Battle this past May where he made the All-Tournament Team . Gaining weight and strength will be keys to his progression on the collegiate level, as he will play for the Wright State Raiders. He chose Wright State over Northeastern and Oakland U.
West Ottawa's 5'10 point guard Jorddan Myrick is the first from Michigan's 2011 class to make a decision and Central Michigan University was the first to offer him and their early offer paid off. He understands the spacing game as well as anyone in his class and should turn heads for the Central Michigan program as the Chippewas look to build a winning program. Myrick is one of many talented players from Michigan's 2011 class to register for Inside Prep Sports' Super 80 in Lansing on September 20.
